COVID-19 has hit many Americans hard. In Iowa, where Quester’s headquarters are located, the economy, the employment rate, and the health of our community have suffered.
To help counter the devastating effects COVID-19 has had on people’s financial resources, the Food Bank of Iowa distributed approximately 2 million pounds of food in June, a 55% increase over the same time one year ago. In collaboration with nearly 400 partner agencies including food pantries, soup kitchens and shelters in 55 counties, they’re now serving 2,000 meals every week.
In fact, 98 cents of every dollar they receive supports their food distribution programs, an impressive feat. They are doing a fantastic job of achieving their mission to help eliminate hunger in Iowa.
Over the last several months, Quester has been fortunate to be in the position to make several financial donations to the Food Bank of Iowa. As part of our Quester Cares initiative to support non-profits and other organizations that do the greatest good in our communities, we’ve been able to give them the resources to serve more that 10,000 Iowans.
